Introduction For almost every need, there is a coaching specialization from spiritual coaching to fitness and wellness coaching. With each specialization comes the offer of assistance to help clients improve their skills, knowledge and performance. These types of specializations involve interaction with individuals, and a Code of Ethics must be part a coaches’ professional practice. For this paper, the guidelines of the International Coaching Federation will be assessed to those outlined by the International Association of Coaching, as well as the comparison and contrasting of these guidelines. The details of the coaching sessions, or the purpose for which the client is being coached should remain in the strictest confidence. Disclosure of the coaching sessions has the potential to cause disagreement for some as to whether the payment of such coaching should be funded by the organization or the employee who is under counseling (Buono, 2002). The code of conduct is defined that client protection is elaborate and addresses every feature of the profession that could conclude into the maltreatment of clients by coaches. These guidelines shield clients from any form of financial, physical, and emotional exploitation (Brockbank & McGill, 2012).
Conflicts of interest
Ethical codes for executives coaches defined by these two major associations states that in any case of a conflict, it would be the ethical duty of the coach to terminate the contract. If the coach fails to resolve the identified conflict, for the decision of termination, the coach would provide the reasonable explanations.

These principles or codes of ethics give the members of this association a framework that helps them operate to the highest standard of professional excellence and offers their clients information on what to expect when working with them.
