Best friends The book I chose to read is Code Name Verity by: Elizabeth Wein. I had a difficult time reading this book. Also, didn't get interested in it; very rough to focus with the book out of order. I cannot recommend this book enough. Such an interesting brutal tale of WW II, with a powerful friendship during it all. Although from it being confusing it was a good book, personally I wouldn't read it again. Elizabeth Wein is a good writer, not one of my favorite writers, but she knows how to tell tales.
The narrator in this book is verity she is telling her story and making up her story of how it goes, because she didn't really know what's happening out in Ormaie. Verity is telling us her point of view first then the second part of the book Maddie tells her point of view of what is all happening. They are both confused and scared but they have to be confident in what they are doing so nothing can happen to them. Kitty Hawk is the one that got safe and has to try to save Verity.
In 1943 Nazi-occupied France, the British spy plane crashes in a town that is fictional and it is called Ormaie. When Julie is captured, she starts writing a novel about how she has been captured. She then explains in a part of the book how Maddie learns about the radars. Maddie is an officer and got transferred to Maidsend on the Kentish coast where she does not get to work on the radars. She gets to work in a telephone that she has to help a aircraft home. Maddie is a smart girl, she knows a lot about airplanes, working on the airplanes, helping other people work on theirs. Maddie also knows how to get dirty in a job she isn't afraid of anything, but once it gets to finding Julie is when her fear starts to
