In utilizing the instructional strategy, based on the social cognitive theory - lecture, quiz, games, and brain storming, the function shifts to an instructor, teacher, manager, and administrator. The function also shifts to a consultant or resource person to all the other members of the team – the Dietitian/Nutritionist, the Licensed Vocational Nurse, and the Fitness Instructor. The role also involves acting as a communicator, reporter, and advocate for health to the community. In conclusion, the roles are much more and encompasses a wider range, as the health education specialist wears many hats in the bid to reduce incidence of childhood obesity and adult onset of type II diabetes in Vista

According to Sperry & Sperry (2012), Cognitive –Behavioral case conceptualizations include a clinical, cultural, and treatment formulation that emphasize signature elements such as predisposition (maladaptive cognitions/behaviors), treatment goals, treatment focus, treatment strategy and treatment interventions. In efforts to demonstrate an example of a Cognitive – Behavioral case conceptualization statement, Client A is presented. Client A is a 9 year old female Caucasian, 4th grader.

Such as, several hospitalization for mental health concerns, lack of training and education in medical staff that lead to improper referrals and occasionally chart reviews by a provider after a massive emergency. This has provoked patient leaving with out referrals and not being linked to care or being managed poorly. Many patients have stigma even being associated with the term ‘mental health’, which can then lead to no treatment at all (CORRIGAN & WATSON (2002). Another main focus is to provide the necessary information/resources to prepare practitioners for the arrival of integrated health care. This includes the education being provided to staff members in hopes to engage patients in behavioral health services to improve their overall well-being, medical and behavioral health.
Wellness teams can assist with navigating access and peer support specialists can offer transitional support. Individual practitioners. Care providers will have greater flexibility of care and will not be dependent on a fee-for-service level of care. Those suffering from mental illness were to undergo treatment using the provisions of the model. At the same time, adults who suffered severe health issues which include brain injury and chronic pain would also be offered therapy based on the model. Older individuals battling dementia were also accounted for. MOHO was also intended for persons with special needs, such as, those suffering from AIDS (Kielhofner, 2008). The homeless, both the young and the old were to be cared for thanks to the model.
Cognitive Behavioral Psychology is based on the theory that a person’s thoughts are the main cause of his/her external actions as well as his/her emotions. This branch of psychology focuses on the present and not stressing over the past and future. It relates to the id, ego, and superego science of the brain, therefore supporting the statement that thoughts are the most influential cause of a person’s behavior. In Inside Out, Riley, the main character, is the only child of a family that just moved away from the home in Minnesota to their new home in San Francisco, thus causing the rise of sadness. Consequently, the movie portrays how Riley’s dynamic thoughts change her behavior throughout the movie.
There is only one approach in psychology that studies thoughts, feelings and behaviour. The biological approach believes that the way we are is due to our genetics and physiology. They believe that the activity going on our nervous system’s is what affects the way we think, feel and behave (Sammons, 2009). The physiology in the biological approach looks into how the brain functions. The brain is a very complicated machine as such, the brain is what controls our every move, every feeling and every action.
Then there is the theory of Operant Conditioning of B.F. Skinner and what the public’s view on this theory is and how well it works. Behavior Modification
I strongly value my health and believe that health is our greatest form of wealth. When one lives a healthy lifestyle, it means more opportunities to explore the world, build families, achieving anything the heart desires and conquering personal goals. The behavior change philosophy fits my personal philosophy of health education the most because it involves goal setting, behavioral contracts and self-monitoring to help foster the modification of an unhealthy habit. The behavior change philosophy is very important because change is a process, not an event. Self-efficacy and motivation are key factors in successful behavior changes.
Corinne Kamrar fMRI 204566178 Whether or not neuroimaging, more specifically functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), informs cognitive theories is investigated through two opposing views. Max Coltheart argues, cognitive neuroimaging lacks the ability to inform cognitive theory and therefore does not contribute to the study of cognition. In other words, cognitive theory informs neuroimaging and not the other way around, such that, neuroimaging informs cognitive theory. Contradicting Coltheart’s view on cognitive neuroimaging, Mara Mather, John Cacicppo, and Nancy Kanwisher agree that an abundance of knowledge can be obtained from fMRI’s and therefore influence cognitive theories.
Wellness coaching is growing rapid over the years to help improve the quality of life and breaking old habits. It is becoming an active strategy in many therapeutic fields to be used to help with prevention, health promotion, and encouraging individuals to make a change for the better (Clark, 2013). Wellness coaching is based off positive psychology to help motivate and help people to reach their goals in their health (Collins, 2009). Wellness coaching focuses on the individual’s well-being and overall health by giving the individual support, motivation, and goals to get to where the individual wants to be (Grodzki & Allen, 2005). Wellness coaches are trained to help individuals to work towards his her goals that are focused on wellness and physical health (Nelson & Shckley, 2013).
