Colin Powell likes the USA better than Jamaica. Colin Powell served in our country. Others might think that he was an immigrant or that many other people that get shot don 't get famous.
Effective Leaders The question “Would you rather be feared or respected?” is often asked when discussing how to be an effective leader. The war novel The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien proves that leaders who are willing to compromise and listen to others when making a decision are more effective than leaders who are unwilling to compromise. Tim O’Brien was a soldier in the Vietnam War, who was in the same platoon as Jimmy Cross (Lieutenant), and other soldiers such as Kiowa and Curt Lemon. After the war ended, O’Brien went home to Minnesota and wrote different stories about his experiences in the war.
Papathanasiou et al. (2014, p. 407) outline authentic leadership as the ability to influence the actions and behaviour of individuals to work together to achieve their goals. Additionally, Goffee and Jones (2005, p. 87) describe authentic leadership as a real thing, an attribute that uniquely defines great leaders. Furthermore, they highlight that authentic leaders are highly attuned to their environment and that whilst they retain their distinctiveness they understand how to strongly influence and win acceptance in strong cultures and how to utilise those cultures as a basis for radical change. President Kennedy also displayed attributes of an effective transformational leader in a time of crisis and sought to inspire and encourage the population to develop and achieve their greatest potential.
B. Leadership Styles Whether he envisioned his impressive future or not, his leadership skills ultimately guided his career trajectory (Lopez, 2014). Powell’s leadership styles allowed him to contribute in guiding his country to the right decisions. While in the administrative office, he shared his thoughts about the conflicts in some Middle East countries, weapons of mass destruction, and the country’s intelligence information capacity. Guided by his leadership styles, he was able to create plans that could be effective in ensuring peace and order to his country. Despite the difficulties, politicians and foreign leaders encounter, for Powell, effective leadership comes from those who have the ability to inspire a population

A professional situation experienced by me has been considered too and the model employed while I was working as a Manager. Heart Mike mentioned that he was initially nervous while getting the responsibilities and was asked to meet the department managers, and that he could see the look of disappointment in their eyes. He had the heart to share that most of these managers
Today, leadership is considered to be more art than science. Equally observable is that those who engage in leadership invoke a variety of leadership styles and traits that can vary greatly, and yet can be equally successful in a variety of situations. No one could deny the tremendous leadership skills of Martin Luther King, but at the same time, for example, do not highlight the skills and success of General Schwarzkopf in crushing the army of enemies. As is generally known, the personal motives affect the leadership preferences. For example, some people choose adventurous and strict leadership style, while the others prefer peaceful and continuous.
What is my leadership philosophy? Over twenty years ago, I raised my right hand and took an oath of office by which I swore to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.” I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.
“There is Putin and there is Russia, no Putin, no Russia.” Consider this statement, meant as a positive affirmation toward Vladimir V. Putin in 2014 by Russia’s then Deputy Chief of Staff, Vyacheslav Volodin. It was. What kind of leader is Vladimir Putin, considering this notion that Putin, or any leader, as the singular identity of an entire country? It is my claim that Vladimir Putin, through his own actions, decisions and behaviors, is a visionary and unethical leader.
1. My philosophy of leadership is about collaboration and teamwork. Respecting and treating everyone the same, is key to supporting a good team atmosphere. I believe when a leader puts effort and care into assisting others, then their peers and followers will naturally want to support them. It is also important for a leader to recognize, that advocacy must never become so important that the critical elements of leadership are neglected (e.g. policy enforcement, command support, etc...).
Question 1 Peter Loescher was hired by Siemens when the company was experiencing extremely difficult times. After the bribery scandal, the main goal was to gain back the trust and respect from the customers and partners, as well as building a new vision. The company’s board of directors decided that they needed a person from outside of the company, who had no connection and loyalty to previous vision, and no affiliation with previous management team. In my opinion, the company owners hired Loescher for a specific purpose to change the overall team perception of how work is supposed to be done.
Leadership has been defined in a variety of ways, there are multiple authors and theorists who have tried to define and understand leadership, all leading to varying theories and conclusions, but one thing that is universally understood is the importance of effective leadership and how someone with good leadership skills can impact so many people around them. (Kakabadse and Kakabadse, 1999; Yukl, 2002; Northouse,2013) The main components that have been identified to play a role in leadership are relations between leader and subordinates, interaction form between leader and followers, the influence that the leader has, the way in which the leader behaves and finally a leader’s traits. (Yukl, 2002) These elements that make up a leader, are then used as building blocks to identify the way in which each specific leader deals with its followers.

From my point of view , Leadership has more to it than I can possibly imagine. I define leadership as the art of enabling a group of people get to a specific destination. As a leader your main focus was to enable your followers lead theselves. As i think deeper i realise a person cannot choose to be a leader. I think a lot of the time people take on leadership positions without knowing.
