I have always wondered how technology can be beneficial to mass people. The thought of inventing something that can help thousands of people has always fascinated me. That’s why, after completing my graduation in Computer Science, I had decided to pursue higher studies focusing on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). This thought that, by working in HCI, I will be able to design for people and the result of my hard work will bring about a positive impact on someone’s life, motivates me. HCI actually helps to bind people and technology together and this combination along with the satisfaction makes it an ideal research area for me. This university is ranked as one of the top universities for research on HCI. The research activities of the HCI Lab of the Department of Computer Science intrigued me to learn more about their projects. Dr. Andrea Bunt (Co-director of HCI lab) is one of the reputed faculty members of this department, whose research projects captivated my interest. After contacting her I received positive guidance and warm welcome as one of her graduate students. So I decided to enroll in the Master’s Program in Computer Science at the University of Manitoba.
The opportunity of M.Sc. is also available here in Bangladesh. But the specialized course like HCI is still not very much available at here. So, if I want to contribute to this sector and accomplish my goal, graduating from a foreign and reputed university will have a great significance in my career. I hope and believe that the high-quality education and research opportunity of the University of Manitoba will definitely play a vital role in shaping my future and increase my ability to obtain a research position in
