College, that is the goal for most high school students. It is their motivation, their determination and the ultimate prize. It is what determines the level of success a person will reach in their life. For me, college is so much more.
I come from a tight nit community in which it is rare for a women to go away for college and more often for them to finish it. My parents are traditional and I am therefore forbidden to leave my neighborhood for college or even have a dorm room. They would prefer if I get married young and don't have an opinion as to if I finish college.

I have thought of the chain of events regarding college since I was a young girl. I have thought of every way I could change my parents minds, breaking away from the community. I have come up with one conclusion, getting into an ivy league school. Ive decided that I need to work pass my limits, receive an A in every honors class, get into an ivy league college and only then my parents will let me go away for college. My mom used to say “If you get into Stanford, you can go to NYU” but once I thought about it more I realized, what kind of mother would deny her kid admission to Stanford University? On the contrary my other thoughts are that if I don't get into an ivy league school, my parents make me live at home which will cause me to get married young. I would then drop out of college, maybe finish it however I will not work because I will be cooking and being a housewife which I know will cause me to be unhappy.
