The American dream is the chance for equal opportunity of success and prosperity caused by hard work, determination and initiative. It gives chance to overcome social classes and barriers, to enable citizens to become the best they can be only if they want to. However, with America having one of the highest levels of inequality and low equality of opportunity, you are more likely to find this dream within Canada or Europe, making it questionable if it is the American dream after all. Canada is a country that represents a lot of diversity and equality, it provides opportunity to everyone equally, and allows people a second chance at life. However there is elements to it that do apply to my life, I am not working hard to make money and live in a big house, but I am working hard to get a good education which sets myself up for the future. Also being an athlete in playing soccer I work hard to improve my game and become the best I can be, with the goal of getting a scholarship to a university to allow an easier time for my parents to fund my education. Both of these things lead me into my future, where the desire for the American dream becomes true, wanting money and a big house; making the decision on how hard I want to work for it. I agree with the values of this dream, in order to do anything in life you have to work hard for it, it never just comes to you. That is why the American dream should be the perfect set up for life, with equal opportunity of success and prosperity that is driven by your own hard work, motivation and initiative; there is not a more fair way for life to be lived. You should be rewarded for your hard work and dedication to your trade, the rewards would keep your motivation up wanting to work more, however with no rewards from hard work any sort of motivation would
