Everyone lives life chasing a dream, a goal, success, and happiness. All people work hard to own their dream home, car, and have a family. This is the American Dream, the pursuit of happiness. The background and morals that you come from define you and it's up to yourself to determine if you will overcome the obstacles placed in your life. Life as a teenager is tumultuous, full of ups and downs, however those ups and downs create a person of character and can guide them through their pursuit of happiness. As a kid, I believe I've disappointed my parents various times because of my carelessness and selfish thoughts. Most believe that a college degree is almost mandatory to succeed, and like Chris McCandless I think that a belief in yourself and a will to succeed in what you enjoy, and love is the most important characteristic that anyone should have. My belief is that people need to stop caring about what others think about them and need to go out and enjoy life. Whatever it is that makes you happy, go and do it, stop putting yourself down because you think others will say negative comments. The world is so big and open for everyone. If having a million followers drives you, then do it. If traveling makes you happy then do it. My personal enjoyment in life is traveling, seeing and experiencing new things, but unlike McCandless I want to view the world while traveling through a plane or a personal vehicle. Hitchhiking is not a way I would feel comfortable with, but I don’t think it’s a bad thing because if that’s how people choose to live life then it is their decision. Along with all the beautiful and luxurious destinations around our planet, visiting historically rich places and meeting new people of different culture and races is just one of the many goals on my list. As I check off something from my goals, I hope to add another so I won't ever feel like I've done everything. Everyone has their own, go out and find what makes you
