College Admissions Essay: What Makes Me Who I Am

To kill people legally; a dream of mine. Some children dream of being doctors, school teachers, astronauts, policemen, or lawyers. But for me, killing people seemed the way to go. As a child I had always a desire to be a bounty hunter, sniper, hitman, or some sort of vigilante. However, I would much rather have the law on my side and fight along side brothers of a common purpose. Along with all the wonderful gore which is involved. I'm a fan of blood, guts, and glory. It's at the core of who I am.

Who I am not is someone enlisting into the military for its insurance, free housing, money for school, or any of the benefits there are. I could not force myself to really care much for the benefits or bonuses. I simply have pride for my country and a drive to kill.

I live and breathe freedom. Freedom which my family before me, from Mexico, was able to achieve with hard work and dedication to becoming citizens. That commitment runs in our blood. Four …show more content…

I push limits, I think differently, I'm more stubborn than an elephant, and I'm not like everyone around me. But I'm compliant. I show respect whether or not it is deserved. I take care of what needs to be done and I do it right. I can give orders and I can take orders. I do not conform to the ways of the common folk, or the average of my age. That difference is in my nature. My protector instinct collides with my nationalism because the United States of America is the absolute greatest country in the world hands down. I have the utmost respect for this country. I am willing to sacrifice anything and everything for it in a heart beat. I want to fight what is front of me to protect what is behind me. I am not one to hold a grudge, but when any group is posing as a threat to my country and harming innocent Americans, that's a zero tolerance zone.
