Who Am I My experiences throughout my life, good or bad, are the reasons why I am, who I am. These experiences, which I will go into detail, that have shaped who I am, in my opinion, dictate how I try to live my life daily. To accurately describe why I live my life the way I do, I need to talk about events that believe shaped my current life and beliefs. As most boys growing up, my father was my hero. I have always, and probably still to this day, try to live up to the life of my father. While I strive to live my life in a similar manner as my father I also try to realize that he wasn’t perfect. I spend a lot of time reflecting on how the things my father did or didn’t do and how that impacted me as a kid, or how I would handle those situations based off my own values and ethics. The purpose of this reflection is twofold, first so I can try and learn from my relationship from my dad so I can be the best father I can be to my own children. When I am looking for an organization to support I’m usually drawn to helping social ventures that are supporting children in need. I assume that my close relationship with my Aunt has driven my passion for helping kids after watching and listening to her stories for the need of people to stand up for those who can’t stand up for themselves. My first experience of being involved with an organization that’s focus was helping kids was participating in THON while I was going for my undergraduate degree at Penn State main campus. After having my kids of my own my desire to help organizations whose mission is to help kids only intensified. I joined our local communities non-profit, Team CMMD, and cam4cure, along with a few other organizations. Our family volunteers our time, service and money to not only try and cure terminal illnesses that devastate kids’ lives but also try to sustain the programs that help these individual kids and their
