In the “Astronomy Discourse Community Examination”, I incorporated interview responses about the 6 aspects of a discourse community into my essay; I included personal experiences and knowledge of the Astronomy discourse community from my interviewee and also included their credibility to the discourse community. When researching for scholarly reviewed article on film, I used the University Library research browser to find academic journals; at first I had done research on magazine articles about Netflix Original Series “Luke Cage”. Later, I realized that these were not fitting for this assignment, I returned to the University Library search base and searched for academic articles
After summer break, I returned to Westlake High School for my junior year, feeling as if something was missing. The decision to spearhead the creation of a chapter of the Science National Honor Society (SNHS) at my school arose because of my desire to establish a niche where high school students could express their shared passion for the sciences. The SNHS would provide enlightening scientific activities and opportunities for students, and the Science club would serve as a path to introduce members into the society. I initially proposed the creation of the society in a meeting with the Principal and Board of Education. Quite a few obstacles had to be overcome to start a new organization in the school.

I am very honored to apply for the Science National Honor Society primarily because of my interest, but also to enhance my academic achievements in science. My interest in joining the SNHS is to enlarge my comprehension in the fascinating study of sciences. I have always been a visual learner, not through reading and writing but through imagery, experiments, tests, and labs. This way of learning has hooked me to learn more about science. From biology to physics, science is a never-ending field which intrigues me endlessly.
College Isn 't The Only Answer If anyone has ever went to high school, then they have heard about college. Everyone has a different point of view on the idea of college. Part of it depends on how someone was raised.
Going to college is probably one of the most important things that I have done in my life so far. Thinking back to everything I have done in the past ten years or so, I can see that taking to leap of faith to join college and further my education was such a huge step for me and I am glad that I did. Before I joined Southern New Hampshire University, I knew I would need some motivation to enroll. I remember a story my father told me about how he had gone to Technical College and became a licensed Master Mechanic and that really motivated me to want to further my education. Also, my brother had talked to me about two months ago and had told me his experience with going to college to earn his English degree and me, being the competitive brother I am, didn’t want him to be the only sibling to earn a degree.

Whereas the traditional approach to education, remains focused on the transmission of prescribed blocks of knowledge, the Montessori approach is focused on giving support to the natural development of the child.” Maria Montessori spoke about how the development of the child between the age of 6 and 12 is a notable time in their life. She highlighted how it is a period of holistic development, which brings out the child’s need for wider horizons, the movement from the concrete to thinking abstractly and the development of the morale. The child is also very interested in socialising with peers.
