The present of Arizona Gymnastics has organization saga that only fits their needs for the gymnasts, but the coaches have tight communication that goes along with both the athletes and the roles that happens behind the sport itself. The gymnasts have a structure that is beneficial for their special needs to be the best as a team. So, I opened the door to listening to them and their suggestions by using the cooperative-style. This style involved sharing decisions with the team (page 31). I gave them direction, provided instruction and only used discipline when only necessary plus I allowed the athletes to make decisions and assume responsibility (page 31). I accepted guidance from my staff and parents, too. The team’s culture changed for the better and became our social architecture that fueled the team psyche.
Soon, our coaches would give us choreography and the leaders were expected to help the members. So, I took charge and setted up sectionals to have one-on-one cleaning of the choreography with anyone who needed help on the team. When everyone has gotten the choreography down, we would bring everyone together to see how they do together in a group. We, now, clean everyone as a group since everyone can do the choreography by themselves. With the passion and determination, we got first place at most of our competitions for that year.
Cheerleading is a sport that often goes unacknowledged for its athletic demands and time commitment required from its athletes. There are two main types of cheerleading today: high school cheering and competitive cheering. The main difference between the two is the amount of athleticism each athlete needs to obtain. Another difference is the time requirement for each. With both comes different financial demands and travel obligations.
The reason for this is almost 100 colleges in the US have gymnastics teams. Not only can you continue to do gymnastics and do what you love, you can even earn a helpful scholarship! As a result, if you go to college and get on the gymnastics team, you can make friends quickly because you have something in common with your teammates. Now if you take Simone Biles for instance, she trained so hard in gymnastics and got to go to the Olympics. Not only did she get to go to the Olympics, which is pretty dang hard to do, but she won 1st all around, floor, and vault!
As outlined in chapter 10 of the course text, inequality in housing and wealth is a major problem. The United States is described to be the most unequal countries in the western hemisphere. But with the inequalities when it comes to wealth, the United States is one of the richest countries in the world. Wealth is the sum total of a person’s assets. These assets include, cash in the bank and value of all properties, not only land but houses, cars, stocks, and bonds, and retirements savings.
I have never had a job with a paycheck, but that hasn’t stopped me from developing my philosophy of work. My experiences at school, home, and most of all, at roller derby have given me a chance to build my philosophy. In my experience, I have learned about my motivations, working through the grind of training, and the satisfaction of a task well-done. I’ve found that the best motivation to work is to turn it into a passion. My passion for roller derby has driven me to become one of the fastest and strongest skaters on my team.

As a student, I always find myself stressed about things like homework, tests, due dates, grades, rent, and all other sorts of college-related problems. When I start to feel overwhelmed by all of the noise of being a young college student, I turn to the one thing that gives me the greatest sense of purpose and inner piece; weightlifting. For me, a weightlifting session is a form of meditation, a time when I can be by myself and truly find inner peace. There is no better feeling to me when I enter a gym with a planned and detailed workout in mind. The feeling of anticipation and readiness to vent out my stress gives me the motivation to hit a workout hard.
