In Colombia, early childhood has an important place in policies of the government. It offers pertinent actions to generate relevant actions that provide interest, contribution programs and projects that affect in the generation of better living conditions for the children in the first years of life. The Ministry of Education works in the formulation, adoption of policies of Government, plans and projects related with the high Education in Colombia with the purpose to improve access to the young people to this process educative. Giving a powerful shot in the educational development, which allows that would have productive and trained citizens. For develop their skills in the context of a society with equal opportunities.

The first is the education initial and attention to early childhood. This included services for the children from the born until six years old. Usually the children join system educative over the five years to zero grade. Then the primary education includes five years. These are the grades from one to five, for children from six until ten years old. The secondary basic education comprised four years. It grades from six to nine, for children from eleven to fourteen years old. The high education are two years. This are grades ten and eleven, for young people between fifteen and sixteen-year-old.
Other difference is every day of school the students should take eight or night hours of school. Also the subjects are obligatory for everybody, and they can’t choose the subject that they want. If some of subjects are failed, the student must to do the restoration process for each subject failed. While in United States the students can choose some subject for their convenience or
