Good To Great by Jim Collins is a nonfiction book that teaches the general public about how to turn an average company into a great company, hence the name Good To Great. In this day and age there is a lot of competition and it is very important to have a company that stands out, in order to receive maximum profits. Collins goes into great detail throughout the book about what is needed in order to see success in a company. For a business to thrive one must think differently on the way their business operates and make changes as needed.
Collin’s mentioned that is is very important about how we think and react to technological change. He stated on page 162, “Great companies respond with thoughtfulness and creativity, driven by a compulsion to turn unrealized potential into results; mediocre companies react and lurch about, motivated by fear of being left behind.” Collins emphasizes that it is essential to think differently than the standard way of thinking about things.
