Once again this action can show how reasonable the snake is by warning the man instead of immediately defending himself by attacking. With this the readers are left to reevaluate if the final decision of the man to kill the snake is the right thing to do. Although the snake holds his composure for most of the passage, he does fight for his life against the man only to lose. In his last moments the snake “struck passionately once more at the
A common theme throughout the movies we watched, Paths of Glory, Beasts of No Nation, and City of God was that of Brotherhood. Brotherhood is a common theme throughout all war movies but especially prevalent in these. For example, to develop this theme in Paths of Glory, Stanley Kubrick, uses the costumes to show uniformity, which in turns represents brotherhood. Another example of this in Paths of Glory is the use of the dialogue by Colonel Dax as he is constantly trying to defend his company from the council. In Beast of No Nation the director, Cary Fukunaga, develops the theme of brotherhood by showing how close Agu and Strika were, and showing them go through their hardships together.

“How to train your dragon” Made in 2010, directed by Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders. These two people have directed the film, and because of that, they have made the audience feel sympathy throughout the film as if the characters were real people that they know. Sympathy make the audience feel more exited about the film, more interested to see what happens next, but the main purpose, is to make us understand a character’s problems or feel sorry for a certain character. The film codes used to create sympathy from the audience are “character codes”, “representational codes” and also “technical codes” These codes are the building blocks of almost the entire film. Firstly, the character code represents the dialogue of a character within a given scene.
Rhetorical Analysis of Shooting Dad The story “Shooting Dad” by Sarah Vowell discusses a story about a teenage girl and her relationship with her father and how they are constantly clashing with each other because they are almost exact opposites. The author develops her story by creating images in the reader 's mind to describe events that happened in her life, the use hyperbole for comedic relief, and irony for emotional effect. The use of these emotional strategies is effective because Vowell is able to use these strategies to help the readers understand the relationship between her and her father. Overall by the use of strategies like imagery, hyperbole, and irony the author creates a piece of writing that shows the relationship between the main character and her father.
In “The most dangerous game” written by, Richard Connell, he uses many devices such as: characterization, plot structure and theme to contribute to the overall meaning of the story. Characterization is a big part of the overall meaning of the story which is that survival is of those who are smart, cunning, and can adapt to their environment. The protagonist Rainsford is at a constant battle with the antagonist General Zaroff. Throughout the entire short story they both have similar minds sets and then farther along the main character 's mind set develops into something more. The reader can almost sense a self centeredness, and that he believes that there are only two type of people in this world, “the hunters and the huntees”, and he believes that he is the hunter.
