It is fundamental that hospitals improve their quality of care provide the best health service to patients. “A hospital is an institution with at least six beds whose primary function is to deliver patient services, diagnostic and therapeutic, for particular or general medical conditions” (Shi, Singh & Pratt, 2010 p. 2). However, in this paper, I will compare and contrast two health care facilities (Alaska regional hospital and Providence Alaska medical center) on their overall quality of care delivery. Quality of care plays an essential role in health care. The reason being is because they have a larger health service team and it is a bigger facility compared to Alaska regional, meaning that they have more hospital beds. For example, if I needed immediate medical attention, I would rather go to a hospital has a large capacity because there could a risk that there won’t be any beds or rooms available for me going to a smaller facility. Though there’s room for improvement to satisfy all patients, which may be impossible, according to the patient survey results mentioned above, Providence offers exceptional patient service. In addition, based on my personal experiences, I attended both facilities for treatment on different occasions and I have to say I was happy with Providence’s service than Alaska regionals. The reason being is that I felt that the staff was more friendly and communicative; they would tell me when type of procedures they are going to perform and the risks. And also, the hospital nurses would call me after being discharge to as about my visit and see if I have any concerns or questions for them. With Alaska regional’s nurses on the other hand did not contact me to see how I was doing. Therefore, I prefer my family and me going to Providence
