Baseball has been around forever and some people do not understand how tough the sport is. First I will explain how hitting a baseball is the toughest thing to do in sports. Then I will explain how tough it is to play in the field.
Softball and baseball are often considered to be the same sport due to the similarity between their names. However, that conclusion is far from the truth as each sport has unique rules, playing fields, and methods of playing the game. This is due to the specialization of each sport for a specific gender; softball is played by females and baseball is played by males.
Baseball and softball are sports with the same background. The two sports are known to be the same by people who do not play either of them. In both sports, there are two teams, one on defense and one on offence, battling for a common number of seven innings to see which team scores the most runs at the end. Although baseball and softball are very similar sports, differences exist such as: the pitching, field setting, and ball differencing. Both baseball and softball pitchers on the defensive side are striving for the same concept and that is to strike out the batter up to bat.
Growing up in my house something baseball related was always going on. I made the decision to dedicate my life to baseball when I was young. Baseball became more than a sport to me. It was not just an activity to do after school anymore. It became much more than that.
When I was younger, I loved to play baseball. I would join multiple leagues every year, and spend days in the summer playing pickup games with friends. Of course I had other interests, but baseball 's combination of technical and physical skill stood out to me as something that I loved. As time went on, and I became more serious about the sport, I began to realize that I was actually terrible at it. I understood the strategy and could perform any individual task, but I could never piece it together to play at even an intermediate level.
