An old man once said, “I like thinking big. If you’re going to be thinking anything, you might as well think big.” (Donald Trump) Thinking big can be challenging, especially if you doubt yourself too much. You have to have the confidence to help achieve your dreams, if you’re not confident enough then you will likely fail. Eva and Anne show that if you have a big dream and you keep working towards it then you can get past anything life throws your way. Both “The Diary of Anne Frank” and “Freedom Writers” deal with life being tough, but you can power through it, but they do so in different ways. Eva is scared to do what is right. She knows the consequences for telling and doing what is right will be harsh. She doesn’t like to share her feelings and keeps herself closed off to most people. Andre is a good student he does even better with Ms. Gruwell’s help. He shows up for school every day, he gets average grades, but when his brother is convicted he starts to fall. He turns down the offer for job with the gang before his brother’s conviction. After his conviction he takes up a job. Andre knows what he is doing bad and that he shouldn’t do it, Ms. Gruwell even talks to him about showing up to school and how important he is too her. (Freedom Writers) Otto Frank the father of Anne knew that he if he was found he would die. That didn’t stop him he hid along with his family and close friends. They got through for about 2 years living off of not much food and each other. When the nazi’s did finally find them Otto was sent to a concentration camp, but he made it through he kept on living even when there was no purpose. He made it through the concentration camp and told his and his daughter’s story.
