Elie Wiesel and Anne Frank both suffered the tragedies of the holocaust. Elie spent the majority of his time in Auschwitz, a concentration camp in Poland, while Anne spent most of her time in the secret Annex. Though they had similar lives, they died very differently.
Elie Wiesel was a celebrated author who survived the holocaust. According to the Washington Post, Elie was fifteen when he was captured and sent to Auschwitz on a cattle cart along with his father, mother, and three sisters and sent to Auschwitz. While there he was separated from his mother and sisters, that was the last time he ever saw them. He and everyone there were treated badly to the point of starvation and disease. The text even states, “He was starved and treated badly.
Anne Frank was a victim of the holocaust as well. She and her family hid in the secret annex behind the nazis back for around 2 years before they were caught and sent to a camp. Anne was forced to work in terrible conditions.

They were the same age when they were sent and both wrote novels about their experiences during the holocaust, Anne of course was sadly not able to publish hers herself, but her father, Otto did. In Annes ‘The Diary of a Young Girl’ she wrote everyday about how it was at the camp and her feelings and thoughts. She wrote it all in a diary gifted to her by her parents. Elie wrote over 40 novels, one of them, ‘Night’, talking about his experiences in the holocaust and describing it. They also both spent time at Auschwitz and had to suffer in to some extent the same ways. They both were forced to work and had to endure the harshness of the concentration camps. Even so, they had many differences. For one, Anne wrote her novel in the camp and Elie wrote his after the experience, and was able to publish his himself. Anne passed in the camp whilst Elie passed after it. Anne also was in the Annex for a few years, meaning Elie was there
