The play version of The Diary of Anne Frank tells the story of how 3 families had to go into hiding when Hitler was after the jews. In the play, Anne has to adjust from living at home and being able to run around with her friends to going into hiding and only sees the 3 families the whole time and can’t go outside. Similar to the play the novel Night by Elie Wiesel was released it was about a boy named Elie who was separated from his family at the concentration camp. In Night, Elie has to stay with his dad and is separated from his mother and sister, and is put through all these death facing challenges. Although Elie Wiesel and Anne Frank have different settings, they both have a similar action and characters before they are being taken away to the concentration camps. The setting in Night and The Diary are different in the beginning because Elie is taken away immediately when the German officers come, and Anne was able to hid for 2 years. This however makes for a really big action that happens and they are both being taken to the concentration camps. In the Diary of Anne Frank they are not found until after about 2 years which they were lucky they weren’t caught before than. All the families had to adjust to living together and were becoming happy, but then they caught Mr. Kraler and he had to tell where they are hiding. In the novel Night Elie and his family know that the German troops are coming for them, but yet they didn’t try to flee to out of the country. They were told that they could pack one bag and that’s all they could take, but they were cramped into the cattle carts and when they arrived at the concentration camps there belongings were taken away. Yet these settings are similar in the beginning, they were still different in the beginning and they bring big plot twist to both
