Don’t judge a book by its cover. Do you or somebody you know have a tough life? Did they take care of you or you take care of them? Or did you not? The are two book characters in the world that live with disadvantages like a tough life and missing out on life. One of those characters is Auggie from the book Wonder by R.J. Palacio. Auggie is a smart, 10 year old boy who has facial deformity. The other character is Andrew from the short story “Fly Away Home” by Eve Bunting. Andrew is a young boy who lives in an airport with his dad and his friend Denny 's family. These characters both have similarities and differences. One way how both Andrew and Auggie have disadvantages is that they both have a tough life. Andrew has a tough life because he lives in a airport where it is really dirty and he could get sick really easily. Also, the food wouldn’t be the healthiest. One way how Auggie is missing out on life is that he doesn’t have many friends. It would be hard to not have many friends and in the story Wonder, it states that his best friend lives over an a hour away. That would be hard to drive more than 2 hours just to see a friend. Another way how Auggie is missing out on life is that he doesn’t go to a normal school in the beginning and that would mean that not learning all the right things that you would need to learn in school. One way how Andrew is missing out on life is that he has only one friend which means playing and working with the same friend over and over again and never playing with a new friend. Another way how Andrew is missing out on life is that he doesn’t go to a school at all. Not learning anything besides the small things that his dad probably teaches him.
