Humans and Chimps
Have you ever about Darwin’s survival of the fittest? Well he was also the guy that said humans come from monkeys. They Humans and chimpanzees are similar species and are both similar species and come from the s and of same ancestors but are very different species in terms of their DNA, their species, and our diet. Did you know that 98.8% of chimpanzees’ DNA and human DNA are the same? We both share a common ancestor and yet we are so different. That doesn’t mean that we are almost identical since we share half of our DNA with bananas. Humans have 46 chromosomes in the body and chimps have 48., T there are theories that a long time ago two of our chromosomes merged together. That is why humans have some of the least genetic variation of all animals and inbreeding can cause genetic problems. Even two completely unrelated humans are usually genetically more similar than two sibling chimpanzees. Not all animals can see red but

These two species of chimpanzees are completely different from one another. We are both omnivorous meaning we eat both meat and vegetables but humans’ intestines are more adapted to meat. Chimpanzees occasionally kill other mammals usually monkeys but often eat fruits and insects. Humans need meat more because it is their only way to get vitamin B12. We Humans also eat large meals three times a day unlike chimpanzees that frequently eat throughout the day. This may be because we could only eat if there was a good hunt. For many years ’ humans were thought to be the only species that could make weapons but since 1960 we discovered that chimpanzees use rocks as hammers and spears. Humans and chimps are bipedal but chimps prefer to walk on
