The Cumberland River, which winds through the heart of Nashville, is one factor that affects Nashville’s climate. The Cumberland River begins in Harlan County, KY and flows for 688 miles before joining with the Ohio River northwest of Paducah, KY. Water bodies provide a source of moisture for the land masses and have a moderating affect on the climates of the land masses near them. In the summer the water from the Cumberland River acts like an air conditioner to keep the air temperatures cool and in the winter, the water acts like a heater to keep the temperatures from getting too cold.

There are as many differences between Memphis and Dallas as there are similarities. The first that comes to mind would be the traffic. Although Memphians complain about the traffic, it really isn 't that bag compared to other cities. You may sit in traffic for a half an hour on your way to work, but your not going to sit anywhere for more than an hour unless the interstate is shut down due to a massive wreck. The drivers in Memphis have a tendency to be rude and reckless.
For me, the South was so different from the laid-back pace of Honolulu but, in some ways, they had a lot in common. Savannah, GA has beaches and islands scattered near it 's coastline. Hawaii and Georgia each are obsessed with their regional fruits. Both places are filled with military servicemen and their families. Needless to say, I don 't feel like I truly have a "hometown" but, instead, I can make any town my home.

The Union’s objective was to capture New Orleans via the Anaconda Plan, which was a war strategy created by the Union General-in-Chief, Winfield Scott, and endorsed by President Lincoln and General McClellan. The Confederates heavily relied on the trading of materials for the war between states, and used the Mississippi River as an essential component of their shipment and transportation system. There are lots of things that is wrong with the city of New Orleans needs to improvements for a safe place to live. Louisiana are so far behind the times when it comes to technology, educations, housing, affordable healthcare, retirement programs for senior citizens, job opportunities and crime rates. If New Orleans was the safest place to live, then there would be no improvements for people to stay. New Orleans would have been the cleanest and safest place for people to live, if people choose to stay or move to another state for better opportunity. The city of New Orleans need to make changes in the direction of where the city’s stands.

I strongly agree with the statement ‘Of Mice and Men is Steinbeck's protest against the unfairness of American society in the 1930s.’ because throughout the novel Steinbeck shows a variety of examples of the discrimination people in 1930s America would face. He also shows us that there was a lack of hope and humanity around this time. A key character in Of Mice and Men who shows how people were treated is Curley's wife. The use of the possessive apostrophe in her title, "Curley's wife”, leads to us being able to infer that she is seen as an object and treated as though she was Curley’s possession.
