Just like in the “Night of The Twisters” we have tornados here in Iowa two. A tornado is violently rotating column of air that spins while in contact with both the surface of the Earth and a cumulonimbus cloud or, in rare cases, the base of a cumulus cloud. Many parts of this disaster are common to the Mapleton Iowa tornado. The Mapleton Iowa tornado happened on April 9th, 2011. Mapleton Iowa is located in the western part of Iowa.
The Joplin Tornado was a very extreme F-5 tornado that killed and injured many people. To begin, the articles "The Evil Swirling Darkness" and the article "A Storm Chaser 's First-Hand Account of the Joplin Tornado" both give very different accounts of what happened the day of the tornado. One example of a difference between the two articles is how the second article talks a lot about how after the tornado had finished, there were no emergency responders that came to help the people who had experienced the tornado. The second article talks about this towards it 's end. Another difference between the two articles is that the storm chaser article talks about pulling people out from the rubble after the tornado took place.
Tornados are one of the most weather phenomenons that we have. The Joplin tornado was one of the worst tornados that were recorded. This was also the deadliest tornado that has ever happened in the United States. These natural disasters were from Oklahoma all the way to North Carolina. There was over a 150 tornados that spawned from these natural disasters.
If you are in a house your best bet would be to go in your basement. And if you have no basement hide under something sturdy, like a table, cover your head and get into fetal position and stay away from windows TYPES OF TORNADOS; the types of tornados are pretty simple they are F1- F5, F5 is the most dangerous tornado that could ever happen. On many different sites they claim that there could also be an F6 but they have never been recorded or any proof. TORNADO NAMES; each tornado has a different name due to their type of damage. F1 is called a moderate tornados and there wind speeds are usually 73-112 miles per hour.
Weather is also about the Moon’s gravitational pull on Earth. This pull changes tides in the ocean from low tides to high tides making tsunamis and other wave related disasters. Weather is also about fronts, warm and cold fronts to be exact. When a warm and cold front hit each other, they create a very problematic natural disaster called a tornado. A tornado is a big tunnel like wind cloud that touches the ground and normally touches down in places that have very flat ground.
It was 6:10 in the morning August 28 2005 and New Orleans had just been struck. Homes were being demolished, people were screaming, innocent people were getting killed from the result of the storm surge. . To this day there are 705 people still missing. While people are living there normal lives, they have not yet to know that in the middle of the Atlantic warm air is rising and it is getting replaced by the cooler air. the Not to forget, the hurricane affected their economy because of $81 billion dollars of property damage.
A disaster is anything that causes damages to something or takes one 's life. Most disasters can be avoided, like car accidents, spills, injuries and so on. Natural disasters on the other hand, con not be avoided but prepared for. Many Puerto Ricans were affected by a disaster than cannot be avoided, a hurricane. The island of Puerto Rico faced a category 4 hurricane that demolished many houses and destroyed much of our wildlife.
Hurricanes and tornadoes have tons in common, but a lot of. Like one difference is tornadoes last a few minutes, when hurricanes last day to weeks. Another difference is hurricanes get there warnings days to weeks ahead of time, tornadoes get there warnings minutes to hours before the actual storm hits. A similarity is that they both cause damage, they both have rain, both have strong winds, and both have low air pressure inside the storm. More similarities are they both rotate counterclockwise in the northern hemisphere and clockwise in the southern hemisphere.
INTRODUCTION Catastrophes affect humanity all the time but two of the most memorable in history are Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Harvey. Hurricanes are first seen from the satellite. This means that the hurricanes are spotted right away, it gets predicted where its going to impact first and how strong it can be when it hits the ground. These hurricanes are extremely dangerous because of its high-speed winds it comes with and the amount of rain produced by them, this makes it worst because they can last for days.
Overview I chose to research tornadoes because they are quite common where I live. Tornadoes are a destructive force of nature with wind speeds up to 300 miles per hour. The origin of the word tornado is the Spanish word for thunderstorm, tronada. Tornadoes are a type of small cyclone that occur when different air masses collide, creating a whirlwind around a low-pressure system. Most tornadoes occur in the Northern Hemisphere, mainly the United States.
Can you believe that tornadoes happen more often than hurricanes? Hurricanes only happen 5 times a year! Tornadoes only happen 800 times a year as in Spencer Adkins said. First, according to "What You Should Know About Tornadoes", tornadoes spin differently in different hemispheres.
“After the air has risen to a certain height, the wind turns the raising air forcing it to rotate. This rotating column of air spins down to the ground, causing a tornado” (“what Causes Tornadoes?”). Typically, thunderstorms will develop in warm, moist air ahead of the storm system, causing the storm to produce a tornado. “In a thunderstorm, the tornado begins as a circulation several thousands of feet above the ground and slowly descends to the ground” (“TORNADOES”). Commonly, you don’t see tornadoes in the fall or winter months, but in the spring and summer months tornadoes begin to appear.
A hurricane forms when the warm air over the ocean rises up and the cold air comes over the water the wind starts moving fast in circles. This process creates a hurricane. Well, if a hurricane comes from the North it spins counterclockwise and when it comes from the South it spins clockwise. The higher pressure air from above flows down into the eye and the cold pressure air flows back up into the air. Do you know the categories of a hurricane?
Tornadoes are the most violent storms ever. They have caused deaths of many people. Then they also destroyed many buildings and acres of land. Many people are not friends with tornadoes as they sometimes destroy someone's business, and lead people's careers to an end. Also some people are just unlucky, because the country they live might have a lot of tornadoes.
One of the reason that cause hurricane it’s depend on environment. Hurricane use the warm air and warm ocean as the power of the storm. As being said, the warm temperature that form above the ocean create the rotating wind because when warm air and cool air are touching together then it makes an area of lower pressure, warm air is lighter than cool air so higher air pressure pushes into the lower pressure area and it cause hurricane.
