Children encountered innumerable challenges while they move from being a toddler through preschool to school-aged. The child psychosocial development is subject to the child’s surroundings, the culture and the society as well as the conflicts that can take place within the ego itself. The presence crisis or conflicts in each of the stage as well as the necessity for the child to successfully resolve those conflicts in order to develop a healthy personality and be able to acquire basic virtues which will assist them to resolve future crisis, constitute a similarity among each developmental stage. The response or reaction of the child to those crisis, in the other hand, represent the differences within each group-age (McLeod, 2013).

Although, most of the attention center in the adult, nurse should not ignore the child completely. It is important to allow the child to be part of the conversation. Use simple words according to child language development. Making toys and games part of the interview could facilitate rapport and can allow the nurse to evaluate child’s abilities, level of attention and sense of independence. Cultural diversity, religious and spiritualty are also very important points to be taken into consideration during the interview.
