NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct 1. What is the purpose of the NAEYC Code of Conduct? The NAEYC Code of Conduct is like the bible for educators. The code of conduct gives educators guidelines on how to be responsible with the children, their families, colleagues, the community, and society. The NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct provides different guidelines on how and educator should act for resolving the principal ethical dilemmas that might arise in the early childcare setting. As an educator you should be able to provide different learning experiences in which the child can grow and learn. This section explains that in order to be ethical and responsible you should create a loving and nurturing environment in which the child can thrive learning. Section II: Ethical Responsibilities to Families In section II the code of conduct states different ways on how we can better assist families. As educators we should always respect the families wishes. We should constantly be communicating for the child’s wellbeing. Everything done should be at the best interest of the family and child.
