Rome and America have a lot in common but both have there differences I will point out some things in common and things that are not in common. We have so many things to learn. There is a stark contrast between the rural Jamaican and the American perception of the ideal body in society. Jamaicans highly favor fat bodies, while Americans prefer the lean, lithe look. The major extreme comes when comparing women in both cultures. Jamaicans encourage young girls to eat and become fat and portray that as the most desirable. On the hand, in America, young girls are the most at risk for developing eating disorders.

In the story mice of men by John Steinbeck was about two people named George and Lennie which are the main characters throughout this story. They seem to have a lot of trouble to keeping a job. They find a job and it was going well at first they were keeping their heads low not getting into any trouble. This was going well until they got themselves into a sticky situation and a very hard situation had to be made. John Steinbeck showed us that brotherhood/ friendship is very important and that some people are closer to you and are always there for you, also he shows that some people are really your friends and will do anything to protect you.

America has become a melting pot of cultures, where opinions and beliefs that intermingle with each other lead to conflict and pride. Hispanic Culture vs. American Culture Culture, as defined in Jon Shepard’s Sociology textbook is defined as an act of behaving or thinking, beliefs, custom, and arts in a particular society. In todays society there are many different cultures, while some are the same there are many different aspects that make each culture unique and diverse in their own way. Between the American and Hispanic culture there are many differences, but there are also similar traits as well. Whether its food, religion, language, politics, sports, family, holidays, or fashion; Americans share some of the same behaviors as Hispanics.
I was born and raised up in South Korea for twenty years, and thus I know Korean culture very well. I also understand American culture as well, because I lived and worked with Americans for four years. I decided to choose this topic, because in my experience, I have noticed a lots of differences between Korean culture and American culture; for example how Korean or American treat older people, how Korean or American act in the gym, and about the differences in foods. I picked those subjects because I have experienced the Koreans and Americans side well enough to understand both and I’m currently in South Korea with military men and women. I have Korean friends and American friends spending time together sometimes, and then I can observes differences and similarities.
