Danger at Your Doorstep Two professors of psychology from the University of Washington, Dr. Neil Jacobson and Dr. John Gottman, spent a decade researching the differences between the kinds of battering husbands. The professors typified the kinds by the severity of the harm they inflict, the ability of women to escape a relationship and the risks the women face if they do leave. Eventually, they divided the battering husbands to two kinds, Pit Bulls and Cobras. In this essay, I will describe the differences and the similarities between the Pit Bulls and the Cobras.
Cobras had a violent and traumatic past including criminal records and history with alcohol problems. Pit bulls had fathers who battered their mothers. I assume that all the violence that they experienced influenced them in such a way that they don 't have any good behavioral

Pit Bulls are amazing animals that deserve love and affection just like any other dog. However, remember that Pit Bulls aren’t just any other dog. The breed’s original purpose American Pit Bull Terriers for hundreds of years have been bred to fight other dogs. Coming from England as Bull Baiting they turned into fighting dogs.
If aggression was a part of the pit bull genetic code, it still would not mean that every dog in the breed is aggressive. “While a dog’s genetics may predispose it to behave in certain ways, genetics do not exist in a vacuum” (“Position Statement”). The way a dog is treated or housed at a young age can make the difference between a loving dog and an aggressive one. Even, the conditions of the puppy while still in the womb can change its disposition. Factors like “early nutrition, stress levels experienced by the mother during pregnancy, and even temperature in the womb” can cause behavior changes (“Position Statement”).
Research confirms, Pit bulls are the least likely to be human aggressive. On the whole, you have to do a lot of work to make them aggressive to people. Pit bulls are….. Beauty without Vanity, Strength without Insolence, Courage without Ferocity, and all the Virtues of Man, without his Vices. Pit bulls are really nice dogs, they have just been taught to do that.
Don’t always judge a book by its cover. People often go into defence mode when they see a pitbull. They are not as violent or aggressive as generally thought. The pit bulls are one of the most world’s misleading dogs. Many of people think of them as a mean and aggressive dog. From a movie it was stated “Good dragons under control of bad people do bad things” (Time). That is the same thing for pit bulls they just need to be trained the right way. Being trained properly is what causes them to be so great with children (Melanie). People say that “pain and fear” are the two main causes of pit bulls attacking and biting (Time). Some have heard of pit bulls that are “as gentle as lambs” and that just shows how easy they would be to work with.
All dogs can be mean and vicious, not just pit bulls. Most people think that as soon as they see a pit bull it 's going to attack you for no reason. But really pit bulls are born very nice and efficient to people. Other people train dogs to fight not just pit bulls. In fact, the top ten dog breeds have dogs, you wouldn 't think would be on it, Pitbull, Rottweiler, Husky, German Shepherd, Alaskan malamute, Doberman, chow chow, great dane many more.
If a dog is not socialized properly they tend to be more aggressive this is not limited to Pit bulls alone. Often Pitbull owners use the dog in fighting matches which have increased the stigma among the breeds. There are various theories that have come up to explain the main causes of domestic violence, some include; learned helplessness theory, Intergenerational Transmission Theory, Social–Psychological Model and the feminist theory. All of these theories have tried to illustrate the causes of domestic violence. In this paper, I will target my writing on the feminist theory where it emphasizes power and gender inequalities in relationships. The theory focuses on how societal messages that makes it alright for a male to use aggression and violence, and the gender roles that dictate how women and men should act in their relationships
