In the story, “Popol Vuh” and “Genesis”, they’re the same in many ways, but there’s also many ways that they are different. They can be compared and contrasted as in many ways, but three ways that I found that they can be compared and contrasted were the floods, the gods, and the humans. They can be compared and contrasted by these three things because the both involve a flood, one or more gods, and how the humans were created, but they are able to be contrasted because they both differ in these three areas in someway or another. A way that they are the same is the gods in both stories created a flood to get rid of the people with they weren’t perfect in one way or another. They differ because in the story “Popol Vuh”, the gods created the flood because the humans weren’t perfect and they didn’t worship them. Their vision was to have the perfect human that would worship them and do what they wanted. The first humans they tried to create was from mud. When they made the body, it didn’t look good. It was separating, loosening, softening, disintegrating, and just dissolving. Its head wouldn’t turn, the face was lopsided, and it was just twisted. At first it would talk, but it was senseless.
