Lastly, one thing that stands out is the fact the author of the book is seen in the movie. In the
In the Red Chief movie a lot of things were similar and different from the story. In the movie Red chief did not throw any rock and try to hit Bill it. In the story Red Chief did throw a rock and try to hit bill with it. In the story Sam and / or bill had offered Red Chief some can. In the movie they Sam and/ or Bill did not offer Red Chief any candy just took him.
In the story of The Ransom of Red Chief the story and movie were very different. However they had some similarities. Some of which include them kidnapping Red Chief. In both stories this was the main point, so therefore these two were alike in the story and movie. Once they reached the caves Red Chief and Bill played a couple of games while they were there.
The other indians find out that the British are near so they find them and start shooting at them. The tomahawk indian was traiter and led them into the trap that they had planned. A detailed list of healthy foods for the toddler was broadcasted and printed after his disappearance. His mother, Anne, and the baby’s nurse hoped that whoever had abducted the baby would care for him(Taylor). For days, all there was was silence and no leads until the kidnapper finally sent a second note that raised the demanded amount. This time, the mysterious criminal wanted $70,000 in exchange for the location of Lindbergh’s son. Finally, on April 2, the family received instructions for where to bring the ransom money(1).A man by the name of Dr. John F. Condon offered to bring the first ransom amount to the waiting kidnapper.
Contrasting between the two criminals is the funny part of the task to think of ways to differentiate between the two. Bill is so different from his partner, because he was getting harmed by red chief (the boy they kidnapped) while Sam wasn’t getting touched. Bill is getting injured back to back and Sam’s getting tired of red chief hurting his partner in crime. Bill insisted for Red Chief to go home, but for some reason he said no and he wanted stay and play with Bill and Sam.
The story and the movie “The Ransom of Red Chief” have a bunch of differences. In the movie, Sam tells a random kid to send a letter to Mr. Dorset. But in the story, Sam took the letter to the post office and a mail man took it to Mr. Dorset. Another difference is that in the story, the kidnappers offered Johnny Dorset some candy and kidnapped him. But in the movie, the kidnappers didn’t offer him candy and just put him in a trunk.
They ended the letter with “Two Desperate Men”. They wanted some money so they put up a kidnapping so they can get some money. There are some differences too about the movie and the story. One difference is on the movie is that Bill and Sam didn’t offer Red Chief some candy; they put him in a trunk and put Red Chief in the back of a car. Another difference is Red Chief didn’t run away when the kidnappers took him.
This is evident in the fact that he appeared to be having a great deal of fun playing with Bill, even though Bill did not appear to be having very much fun himself, which leads me to the next similarity. The second similarity is that in the story Red Chief physically hurt Sam and Bill, whether it be by accident or on purpose, on a multitude of occasions. In the movie, Red Chief also physically hurt them. This is demonstrated by the fact that he kicked at them when Sam and Bill were trying to capture him, and did a multitude of different things to injure them while he was with them. As a result of this abuse, the next similarity occurs.
Those were just some details that show no matter what it is if you try to cross over a book to a movie there will be
