Remember Jared Fogle. He lost weight on the Subway diet and cashed in big with a TV contract. A few years went by, and a clever young woman named Christine Dougherty wrote a letter to Taco Bell with her story about losing 54 pounds on her Taco Bell Drive-Thru Diet. Before you can say "nachos del grande" she's all over TV showing off her svelte body, the result, we are supposed to infer, of the young woman replacing her higher fat and calorie tacos and burritos with the "Mexican" fast food chain's slimmed down Fresco Menu versions. What's next?

The style of this essay seemed to be very informal from essays I previously had read. Yet, author John DeVore gave it his personal touch. For instance, “Unless we’re talking Taco Bell. Which I will talk about, at length, even if you haven’t asked a question that has anything to do with Taco Bell.” After reading that quote I knew that in his essay he would bring forth his personality.

This horrifying and deplorable idea in history should have never crossed Harry Truman’s frontal lobe. The atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were detestable and odious for reasons such as Japan was already compliant to a conditional surrender, the extinguishing of about 250,000 Japanese lives, and that one bomb was enough. One reason for why this was a heinous act is that it was unneeded.
