The Enlightenment was an intellectual movement that reached its peak in the mid-1700s when many philosophers began reevaluating their past ways of thinking. One of the most powerful countries at the time was France. Even though the rest of the world praised their robust trading system and culture, they still faced significant problems within the government such as high taxes towards only certain groups of the population. These effects led to the revolution where thousands of poorer French citizens fought for radical change in the feudal system. Modern Enlightenment ideas in Europe had a huge influence on the French Revolution, especially leading up to it.
During the 18th Century, the Enlightenment was introduced in Europe. This new movement brought about modernization of thinking about government and individualism, and reevaluated previous beliefs. The Enlightenment had many new Philosophers who helped spread their views on government. Philosophers were similar in ideas about the rights of citizens and people’s choice of which government they want, however they differed on the reason government existed and governmental power. Overall, the ideas were a substantial departure from previous ideas about human equality, absolute rulers, and the court system.

The Enlightenment Period consisted of philosophers that advocated for political, social, and economic changes. The enlightenment thinkers motivated the revolutions of the 18 and 19th century by promoting Equal rights of Man and by preaching that governments should be managed by branches instead of a monarch. One of the most influential revolutions was the American revolution whereas the American colonists were fed up with the British and declared independence from them.
The Age Of Enlightenment was a period in the 18th century where change in philosophy, beliefs, and cultural life took place in Europe and in the Americas. There were many historical figures that helped shaped everything that took place during this era. Two very important historical figures I will be talking about are John Adams and Samuel Adams. The two were influenced by the Age Of Enlightenment. They had very similar visions but their different actions spoke louder more than anything.

Additionally, it served as an inspiration for the values of choice, equality, and independence as well as the fundamentals of human reason

These three philosophes argued that all individuals both men and women should have more freedom. The Enlightenment was a time period in which people questioned the government, religion, and gender. John Locke, one of the four philosophes was a huge figure in the Enlightenment as he questioned the ways of the government and how it run.

There were advancements in philosophy and the sciences and wars; many people wanted to improve their living conditions compared to previous centuries. Although the Age of enlightenment was riddled with improvement the general public did not always agree that these improvements were necessary, and there are many reasons for the rejection. A couple of prime examples of advancement during the Age of Enlightenment was the philosophical works of John Locke,the American Revolution, and the scientific advancements of Galileo .

Each of the philosophers demonstrates the fundamental idea of the Enlightenment like liberalism, rationalism, conservatism, toleration and scientific progress. Even though each person played an important part, the most influences person that was involved was Benjamin Franklin. Many intellectuals felt unhappy with the fixed social styles amongst their very own collectives, and angry at their governments' refusal to provide non-public rights. The lasting political effect of the Enlightenment can't be overstated. At the least three fundamental political revolutions came about throughout this time period in Britain, America, and France.

Now able to read the philosopher’s works, a larger sum of people now were educated on the corruptions within their government.
