Compare And Contrast The Perfect Gift And The Gift Of The Magi

There are many similarities and differences in “the Perfect Gift” and “the Gift of the Magi.” Each story has its own strengths and weaknesses.I believe “the Gift of the Magi” has a lot more weakness then “the Perfect Gift”.This is the reason I prefer “the Perfect Gift” more. In this essay I will explain both stories, There strengths and weaknesses but both stories revolve around love and friendship. Let's start with “the Perfect Gift.” In “the Gift of the Magi” I certainly feel like it has stronger emotions but i don't feel like I capture the whole meaning. In “the Gift of the Magi” it uses very strong and bold words such as “ appertaning,” “mediancy,” and “Vestibule.” Which is good and bad for me because some of these words and phrases I don't understand but others make the story very vivid and descriptive such as “Within forty minutes her head looked a little better. With her short hair, she looked wonderfully like a schoolboy.” This really paints a picture in my head of a school boy with very short hair. One of the reasons I think “the Perfect Gift” is a stronger story because I can understand it better it uses more relatable terms such as “ipod” an “chocolate”. And even the harder terms like “anaphylactic shock” I can understand. These terms make me understand the story a lot better an put myself as if I were in the classroom. Another strength i found in “the Perfect Gift” was the storyline was a lot easier to follow. I feel this way because “the Perfect Gift” uses smoother transitions words an doesnt have very long sentences were I get lost
