Every bite and every sip and every meal or course one consume determine how long each of the cells in your body lives its life. One of the most amazing thing that this planet own is the food we all love to share and enjoy. There are various foods around the world and they are amazing but they are also unhealthy. The food is so amazing temps one to have more and more because of how good and tasty it is no matter how unhealthy it is. Mr. Michael Pollon describes the dangers of consuming too much of something and how it affects us by comparing and contrasting the republic of alcohol and fat while also using logos and ethos.

Just like corn whiskey, people eat food before and after work, during their day, in the evening and even in the middle of the night which causes obesity. Like whiskey, obesity is one of the most pressing health problems in our world and keeps getting worse by the minute. Obesity being a problem costs the health care system an estimated $90 billion a year. They are so many diseases from this problem, but the main disease is Type II diabetes. It was formerly known as adult-onset diabetes because it occurred in adults than children but as of recent data, a child born in 2000 has a one-in-three chance of getting diabetes. Michael uses logos, ethos, and pathos in this essay to let his audience understand what he is trying to let us know the real dangers we have with consuming so much food in our bodies. Mr. Michael uses ethos in paragraph two when he quotes historian W. J. Rorabaugh saying “we drank the hard stuff at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, before work and after and very often during.” (283). Mr. Michael is using Mr. Roraboug as his credible source. He also quotes the journalist William Cobbett on his fellow Englishmen in a dispatch from America saying “Come on then, if you love topping, For here you may drink yourself blind at the price of sixpence.” (283). Mr. Michael uses logos in this essay. He uses a lot of logos in this essay. He puts all a lot of statistics in this essay like the number of people who are suffering from overnutrition as of 2000 and that’s a billion and that number is going up by the day. (284). Because of all the added sugars to what we eat like a cane, beet, HFCS, glucose, honey, maple syrup, a regular person is getting 128-158 pounds now. (285). Sixty-six pounds of high fructose corn syrup come from the soft drinks someone drinks every day. (286). One would say that this whole say was written with a pathos mindset.
