The United Mine Workers of America a.k.a. UMWA is known for its leadership. The association supports its workers as much as they can. The UMWA and early guilds can be seen as similar because of the fact that they support their workers on what they are going through. The workers would stick up for each other’s rights and work together. The members of both the guilds and unions knew that their fellow workers would stick up for them and support them. For example some of the issues were that they were underpaid or treated unfairly. It’s like the saying “All for one, and one for all!” There are also some differences between the two though.
