The Pawnee believed the ring was their governmental style of high elders in council to resolve important matters. This constellation was incredibly important to the way the Pawnee behaved as a society, and their religious and cultural beliefs. Although the compass was not an available resource, sundials were. Sundials originated from Egypt in 1500 B.C and since then they have been used throughout the world to keep track of the time (Sundial). For the Vikings purpose, the dial was used to depict the time of day, which could then show the direction one was sailing based on the suns location and movement throughout the sky. As the celestial navigation relied on a particular setting, as did the sundials. Without the sun shinning the dial would be unable to cast a shadow pointing to a particular time, therefore the direction could not be found.

Tyne gives examples of the strengths and weaknesses of people with each of the three learning styles and encourages parents to identify their child’s learning style. LSSU is half as long as Tyne’s article. “Kinaesthetic, Auditory, and Visual Learning Styles for Children” is written in a more persuasive manner. Fireflies, while they do shine similarly to stars, are living things. They fly around, never staying in the same place once. If a helmsman were to navigate his ship by fireflies, surely he would end up lost and far from his destination.

A proper education can result in an increase of knowledge, success, and confidence; it builds personality, improves a child’s social skills and most importantly, it prepares them for the future. Now despite this being essential to any young child’s life, there are too many children to count that are deprived of such the crucial, basic right, of a proper education. The reason for this is the racial segregation that still exists in America today. Many tend to falsely assume that such a thing ended during the Civil Rights Movement and these few would be incorrect because segregation in education is very much alive and increasingly becoming worse
