Although Matt is way different from me (I don't climb mountains), we are in some way similar. When he first went across the world, he did not know many people or anything about that place. Of course, I didn't move across the world but I still struggled when I moved here. I did not know anybody and when you are socially awkward, it doesn’t help at all. I connected with Matt a little bit in that way since he felt pretty out of place in the new environment. But, after a while there climbing, he discovered it was not as bad as he thought and started to feel more comfortable there. He found his safe spot which was up in the mountains and I for one needed to find a space like that.

While Mark was on Everest, he saw a lot more danger in the mountains. They told me they had been caught by the storm, and were lucky to make it out alive (Pfezter and Galvin 173). Jamling also saw the same thing, I was headed for a dangerous mountain and would need all the help I could find. (Norgay and Coburn 31). Reading both books has allowed me to see Mt. Everest from different
