The approach to fixing the black situation taking by Booker T and DuBois was approached in different ways. The different ways could be seen through their back grounds, their approach themselves, and the documents that best describes their solutions to the problems.

Booker T Washington was an African American educator, author, and advisor. Born into slavery, things Washington experienced changed him. Washington was the dominate leader. He also was the founder of Tuskegee university. He participated in many role African Americans took to get to where they are today. Washington family settled in Virginia. Washington main goal was to uplift African Americans by showing them that failure was not an option, and by showing African Americans the importance of their skin color. He also was the creator of the very famous speech "Atlanta Compromise". Washington also worked with the rich whites to raise money for schools, and thousands of small community colleges. W.E.B DuBois was very different on the other hand. DuBois was an African American male as well, who was a historian, civil rights activist, and editor. Born in Massachusetts, DuBois grew up in a different world. He also was the fist African American to earn a Ph.D, and also a graduate from Harvard.
