Just imagine living a life where people are afraid to look at you. Where people just sit and stare and give you a creepy face saying you’re a monster. In the stories, “Wonder,” written by RJ Palacio, and “The Girl who was Born with only Two Arms and Two legs,” by Stuart Baum, the protagonists are August Pullman, also known as Auggie and Quarta. They both have to deal with people doing this to you on a daily basis. In “Wonder,” Auggie, has to live a life with a gene in chromosome 5 that made his face deformed, and he has to go to school for the first time. In “The Girl with Two…,” Quarta is the only person in her whole school with only two arms and legs. She has to live with it and has to make through her life with positivity. Both of these characters have limited actions, they are different than normal people, and the way people treat them changes at the end. One example of this is when people get a look at his face. “When I saw him, I was like, ‘Ahhh!’ and I ran away.”... “I couldn’t help it” said Jamie kind of whining.” Jamie had no intention of purposely doing, its just the way his face is. Quarta also has the same type of problem. Since she has only two arms and two legs, people call her a freak. People never really seen somebody like that, probably their first thought is What a Freak!!! In school people are even afraid to touch Auggie. The school had started a thing called The Plague. It is where if you even touch Auggie, you would have 30 seconds, to run and find hand sanitizer or wash your hands before you catch the Plague. It is almost like people are afraid to even touch him. On the other hand, it was just like when Quarta rescued Kako. All she really did was pull him to safety, but even when she just pulled him out, she still got teased. This seems very unfair by people just judging a book by its
