124 Words1 Pages
When Sigurd’s uncle revealed Sigurd’s fate to him and the reader did reduce the impact of the story. This is because by listing all of the things Sigurd will face in the beginning of the story gets rid of the element of surprise. By having the reader know what is going to happen to all of Sigurd’s accomplishments it removes the excitement of wondering if Sigurd will finish his tasks. If the reader didn’t know what will happen to Sigurd then they could think Sigurd would die by doing certain tasks, like fighting the dragon. When it’s known that Sigurd will not die until he meets a certain character the task the complete lose the impressiveness of wondering if the task are too difficult.
