Fate and free will are both concepts that determine the course of someone’s life. The difference between the two is that fate is the outcome of a certain situation that is outside of someone’s control. An example of fate is death; as seen in the movie “Stranger than Fiction”, Professor Hilbert tells Harold that he has to die, and nothing can be done to prevent it. The clip illustrates how death is inevitable and it is “the nature of all tragedies”. On the other hand, free will is the power to act in certain situations independently, but not change the outcome. A clip of “The Adjustment Bureau” illustrates the art of free will by showing a man who chooses to stay with the love of his life, however which costs them their dreams. Through the power of free will, he chooses to stay with his lover, but fate decides that they can never achieve their dreams. Ultimately, I believe that fate and free will go hand in hand; life is a combination of both. Fate is in our lives, but in the end, free will allows people to fully reach their potential and choose the roads along the journey to the same goal.

I also think we can change some things in our lives , but we would have to still face the same fate. I believe that our actions and free will cannot change the outcome of our fate. You are absolutely right to point out the fact that no matter what people do, they cannot escape death. I feel like it is an excellent example of how free will cannot alter fate. I liked how you said death is an inevitable fate, but you can still choose how to live and be remembered. It makes me wonder if some people live carelessly, not putting effort into anything because they know they are going to die in the end. I agree that free will allows us to influence the results a bit, but fate doesn’t allow the main idea of death to be prevented. Free will might help change how you die, but it can’t prevent
