The main focus of Hamlet is avenging the death of his father. When he meets his father’s ghost, Hamlet immediately says “Speak and I am bound to hear” in order to demonstrate the loyalty he has for his deceased father’s wishes, to which the ghost replies to with “so art thou to revenge” (1.5.5-7).
