Imagine yourself going back into the past and living with the Coastal and Plateau tribes. Wouldn't you want to see the resources they used? They have to use the sources that are found around them based on where they live. So the Chinook tribe of the coast and Nez Perce tribe of the Plateau interacted with their environment differently and similarly to provide food, shelter and clothing for their people. There is many differences and similarities between the Coastal tribe, Chinook and the Plateau tribe, Nez Perce on the way they get and use their food based on their environment.
Before Europeans even knew of the Americas there were Indians. The Indians had diverse cultures and conflicts with each other. There were hundreds of different groups of Indians. Most hated each other and killed each other. Some sought to get beyond murder and cannibalism.
During the French and Britain‘s conflicts, the Iroquois Confederacy consisted of six nations: the Mohawk, Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Oneida, and Tuscarora. Although, I’m sure all of these nations have interesting backgrounds, I’ve decided to find out more about the Cayuga nation. The Cayuga nation has a very interesting culture, which includes the food they eat and the religion they’ve chosen to practice. The main foods involved in the Cayuga diet included corn, beans, and squash, also known as, the Three Sisters.
There are similarities and differences to be found in the stories through God’s provisions, the father/son relationships, and their tones.
As in both they have a place dedicated for business. Both deal with provision for land and addition. Both have Symbolism that can link together. The Iroquois had a type of throne made out of thistles while the U.S. has an Eagle holding thirteen arrows meaning unity and a tree branch from an olive tree that means an extension of peace. Within both constitutions there are two houses, in Iroquois there are two groups who look at decisions just like the American but in the American Constitution the president makes the final decision.
The differences between light and dark, good and bad, are blurred in the Iroquois Creation Story. The narrator captured two different views in this story, blurring the line between what is considered right and wrong. The Iroquois Creation Story does not have just the black and white, but also the gray areas as well. It makes readers question what is really good and what is bad. Some differences in the stories Iroquois and the Judeo Christian is having an almighty god. In the Judeo Christian story they believe that god created the heavens and the earth. Unlike in the Iroquois story where they believe that there is no almighty god and that the earth was made on a turtle's back.
