One example of The Scarlet Ibis and Simon Birch being similar is that they both have similar characters. In Scarlet Ibis, there is a “disappointing” character named Doodle who was not expected to live long. Harrison Bergeron and Guy Montag are two similar characters. They both are against the world and go against the overpowering governments. Montag goes against all the firemen and Harrison goes against all the handicappers, this type of conflict is called man versus society. Some other characters that are similar are Mildred and Hazel. They are both boring wives to that do nothing and are lifeless.
