Comparing Macbeth 'And The Kite Runner'

Why in the world are we comparing Amir and Macbeth when they were two different stories? They have alike characteristics and different characteristics but there are one thing that they both share and that’s guilt. In both stories the feeling of guilt is shown to develop the character.
In The Kite Runner, guilt is shown through internal conflicts. In the story, it states “I would always feel guilty about it later. So I’d try to make up for it by giving him one of my old shine or a brown ooy. I would tell myself that was amends for a harmless prank”. This means that Amir felt guilty then he would get rid of the feeling by treating and tried to forget about it. Also, in the passage it states “I thought about Hassan’s dream about us swimming in the lake. There is an monster, he’d said, just water. Except he’d been wrong about that. There was a monster in the lake”. This shows guilt because Amir keeps thinking of Hassan’s dream with a big monster and he keeps thinking because he feels guilty. In Macbeth, it states “I am in blood stepp’d in so far that, should I wade no more, Returning were as tedious as go o’er”. This shows guilt because after Macbeth sees the ghost of Banquo, he starts to feel like a criminal making him feel guilty. Next, in the story it states “One cried, “God bless us!’ and Amen, the other as they had seen me with these hangman’s hands. List'ning their fear, I could not say ‘Amen,’ when they did say ‘God bless us’. Methought, I heard a voice cry, ‘Sleep no more! Macbeth does murder sleep’”. This shows guilt because Macbeth says this right after killing King Duncan with the dagger and now he really feels guilty about killing King Duncan. Lastly, this is how guilt is shown in
