Ever wanted to throw down that textbook and read something enjoyable for once? Well, go ahead! The skills and values that liberally educated people should posses can vary from different views, yet the list of ten qualities that William Cronon created in his article, “’Only Connect…’ The Goals of a Liberal Education”(1998), is an inspirational goal for the liberally educated. Cronon’s list of qualities includes solving problems and puzzles, empowering others, and understanding how to get stuff done in the world.
Fresh new high school seniors are ready to embark on the journey of choosing of a college to attend. These students are filled with fear of choosing the right one or else their lives "will be ruined forever". However, students can be rest assured knowing that universities would never lie to them and that they only want what 's best for them, right? Sometimes that may not be the case. Universities are known as a place of academics but what happens when all of that changes?
My teaching philosophy continues to evolve depending upon the audience. For example, as a law enforcement professional trainer, training recruits in new techniques, concepts, physical skills, it was important for the recruit learner to memorize the techniques, learn appropriate terms, develop understanding of daily operational equipment of law enforcement and to understand how to apply rules, statutes, and ordinances in applicable circumstances. Consequently, this involves behaviorism influence of reinforcement, memorization, and repetition to ensure techniques are completed correctly (Manery, 2014). As an instructor of distance learners, I strive to engage learners, aid in branching out of comfort zones and to look at issues from all angles
Throughout the book “Defense of Liberal Education” by Fareed Zakaria in his argues about Economic and College Education. They are arguments that he has made based on Education in the United State and what would be the reason that people such as parents, Politicians, and educators have to work and being able to protect the liberal Art Educations. The issues that he mentions is School emphasis of marketable skills. Fareed Zakarian argues that there is no more demand skill than having the ability to be able to have communicating. Having the chance to learn all of the development and being able to support by the “Liberal Education”.

Dr. Jane Vella devoted her life to creating and developing the Dialogue Education ™ approach to adult education. Dr. Vella received her understanding on the adult learning principles from her more than 50 years experience as an educator in many countries in Africa, Asia and the Americas. She also used the principle of Dialogue Education in her doctoral research at the University of Massachusetts and wrote several popular books on this subject. Though testing is necessary with the current structure of evaluating students, there is a conscience effort to improve schooling for students. Hoping to stay teaching in Eastern Washington, I am excited to see teachers setting the foundation for change. Research shows, for example, that GED recipients perform about as well as high school graduates on standardized tests but have much worse life outcomes because they often lack important qualities such as curiosity, conscientiousness, perseverance, and sociability. ELA teachers could help more students develop these so-called “soft skills” or non-cognitive abilities if they didn’t have to focus on drills for tests. Instead, ELA teachers have to, for instance, cut back on large-scale projects that require perseverance, reduce the number of literary texts that engender the empathy necessary to sociability, and limit opportunities for developing student curiosity. Student learning that could lead in positive directions is diminished when tests prevent teachers from helping students develop the noncognitive abilities that support better life outcomes.
To know that I am a fair person is great because I now know that in a given situation I will be fair with my decisions. I could go and explain why each of them are important to have, but like I said the ranking and outcome of the survey was unexpected. The next survey Emotional Intelligence Self-Assessment was a very interesting one. I did not know what emotional intelligence was until this course.

What kind of activities will be useful to persuade teachers that they can improve the proficiency of their students? What kind of affective state is needed in your school to develop the collective efficacy that you need?
The desires and understanding of the learner are at the core of the progressive education movement. Learners ascertain problems and identify solutions in order to enhance their aptitude through experience based education and skills acquisition. In progressive education, programs are focused on learners, and should be adjusted continually in order to address the specific needs and circumstances adults face. Progressive educators, to ascertain important truths about the student’s environment, use a mixture of experimental and scientific techniques. The purpose of Progressive Adult Education is to: promote societal well-being; enhance individual effectiveness in society; and to give learners practical knowledge and problem solving skills.
Most adults came argue that they may not have been formally taught as a teacher or educator but they have been instructed by their employer to lead a seminar, training, coaching, and teaching of some skills. Mine interpretation of this chapter is that of what programs for adults should look like. The education and training
Final Reflective Paper The decision to return to school is a significant step for adult learners, particularly after a long absence from formal learning, and there are many factors in making that decision. Perhaps to develop or achieve professional goals, higher career status, professional security, or to personal goals, such as, seeking knowledge and new skills. As adult learners, they bring lived experiences and develop knowledge to the classroom, most are self-directed, goal oriented, therefore, have different ways in approaching learning and may require particular learning environments.
Teachers have to use different pedagogical approaches. They should participate actively in their learning and to assist professional development. The
