Comparing Nature In Thanatopsis, Tide Rises, And The Tide Falls

Nature is a beautiful thing. No matter where a person is or where they go, nature is all around them. In all parts of nature a lesson is given to expand the knowledge and growth as a person. The stories Thanatopsis by William Cullen Bryant, Nature by Ralph Waldo Emerson, and The Tide Rises, The Tide Falls by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow are examples of this. The three authors talk about how nature makes a person become more self-aware, and the eloquence that nature has on a person but, the effect on the person from learning from nature differs throughout each. Throughout the stories, there are metaphors that demonstrate how nature allows a person to become more self-aware. One example is in Thanatopsis “Thy image. Earth, that nourished thee, shall claim/ Thy growth, to be resolved to earth again” (Byrant 22-23). The people become more aware that what has been nourishing them, they will go back to nourish the earth. Thanatopsis, Nature, and The Tide Rises, The Tide Falls each teach people through nature to become more self-aware and that the eloquence of beauty helps teach people. In Thanatopsis the effects of nature teaches people after the due, they will be with everyone before them. In Nature, the effects make people have faith. In The Tide Rises, The Tide Falls, the effects make people think about their impact. All in all, these three authors do make some similarities, but they also make differences, by reading this, people can understand why the three stories are similar the way they are, and they can understand why they are different the way they
