The U.S. Civil Rights Movement and the Anti-Apartheid Movement both had great impacts globally in regards to protests and social justice. Although this is the case, the civil rights movement had the greatest impact globally in regards to protests and social justice. According to Matthew Greeson, Steven Metz argued that "the reason for [the anti-apartheid movement's] success is [because]...First, the anti-apartheid movement was the spiritual and material successor to the civil rights movement"(65). The civil rights movement set a precedent for the anti-apartheid. It helped the Anti-Apartheid movement in different ways. It helped the Anti-Apartheid movement gain good leadership and become successful, therefore, the civil rights movement greatly
