Do you look up to someone in your family/ friends? After reading the stories “The Cry of the Wolf”, and “Building Confidence”, I noticed a similar theme in both stories. Both stories reveal a theme of, to take advice from someone with experience. In “The Cry of the Wolf”, it reveals the theme through the plot, the character thinks about the advice from his chief, because he is in a bad situation, then does what he suggests. In the story “Building Confidence”, it reveals the theme through the characters actions, the character listens to the advice from Sergeant Arsenio, then follows what he does. In the story, “The Cry of the Wolf”, it states, “The chief’s words drifted back to him. ‘Wolves do not hunt their own kind.’” This lets me know that the character is listening/ remembering his chief’s advice, for the situation he is in now. Another piece of evidence in, “The Cry of the Wolf”, is, “He remembered the wise old chief’s words. ‘Wolves know no fear,’ the chief had revealed, ‘they know only the hunt.”’ This explains that the character thinks back to what his chief had said in the past and is trying to figure something out using his advice from the chief. …show more content…
