Japan Compared to the U.S with Robotics and Education The U.S. and Japan are just some of the competitors in the world that compete to see who has the better technology. Technology is a general term to use when it comes to what these competitors are competing for. Education and robotics seems to be on the rise between the U.S and Japan to see who can build the first robot that interacts and connects with children in an educational environment. The future is right around the corner, but it is close when it comes to deciding who is in the lead with robotics and education. Compared to the United States, Japan is working harder and faster to develop a robot that can be of assistance in the class room. First, there is a difference between the kind of robots that are being made in Japan and the kind of robots being made in the U.S. Japan is focusing on making robots that are more human while the U.S. is focusing on robots that do a specific job or act as a tool (Sparkes 12). From what is said, people from the United States are scared of robots because of how the media can make them look like they are used for bad things (Sparkes 13). This compared both Western and Asian views about robots and shows the United States as having a fearful view of robots while people in Japan have more of a forgiving view towards them because of how they for the robots there as an interactive object. I feel like the Japanese see them as people made out of technology. The concerns that Japanese have with robots revolve around the social issues that would impact their society (Macdormen 491). From this, it shows that the Japanese do have concerns about robots and are not entirely for robots.
